Calaveras is an American hard rock band founded as a duo in Tokyo, Japan by veteran rockers Doug Wilson (vocals) and Ken Kishi (guitars), now joined by Andy Hewett (bass) and Mike Marrington (drums). Drawing on heavy-hitting hard rock, southern rock, and blues, Calaveras is a unique sound born from Japan.
Calaveras released its debut studio album 'Hell Will Decide' on Tokyo-based BattleKat Records in early 2019, supported by a tour across Japan, Korea, Denmark, and Germany. The second album 'Skulls On Fire' arrived on December 14, 2022 as a dual release on BattleKat Records (Japan) and Firebase Records (USA), followed by a successful 2023 tour. The band played the world-famous Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood and the Doll Hut in Anaheim in 2023 and 2025, and was featured at the Highwire Daze Magazine booth at the 2025 NAMM Show. The 2020 single 'Sick' reached number 18 on the UK chart, and the band was featured and interviewed in the UK's PowerPlay Magazine (Issue 26). A third studio and acoustic album is in the works for 2026, with further US and Mexico touring planned.
